Bernie Acuna
Bernie Acuna was born with Gabrielino blood on both sides of his family in the city of Alhambra, on January, 4, 1949.  Growing up he was a well mannered son, a strong and caring brother of six siblings, and over the years became an active father to four children.  Through the years, Bernie's career led him to play an active role in sales management and later due to his residential movement he became a forest ranger in Idyllwild, California.

Currently, Bernie Acuna has made a decision to become an active member of the Gabrielino-Tongva Tribe.  He has taken direction in a positive way to not only improve the lives of other Gabrielino Indians but lives of the community members of The Greater Los Angeles Area as well.  Bernie Acuna has found inspiration from his grandmother, who is the oldest living member of the Gabrielino-Tongva Tribe to continue the fight for the tribe's federal recognition.
